Painting Workshops
Well, what do you expect? When all’s said and done, I was a teacher before I was an artist and, yes, I do conduct them.. My two greatest satisfactions in life are the look in peoples' eyes when they see one of my paintings and fall in love with it, and the reaction of someone, either adult or child when they produce their first masterpiece. And make no mistake about it. To them it is a masterpiece, and let nobody suggest differently! Frankly, I get a bit hot under the collar with artists who insist that only those specially blessed by the gods can, or even should, attempt to paint. We are all equally blessed and only differ in the variety of our blessings. In my experience ‘becoming an artist’ is eighty per cent application, ten per cent talent, and ten per cent having somebody like me to show you the ropes, explain the technique and kick start you. I regularly conduct classes, workshops, and courses for both adults and children, using the mediums illustrated on this web site. I can conduct small classes (maximum 8 students) in my studio/gallery here in Ballagh, Kilrooskey or, because I love travelling, even distant locations are never a problem as long as my expenses are met. Which leads us neatly to the inevitable question - what will it cost? Well, as with commissions, that can depend on a number of factors, but as a rough ‘ball in the park’ figure I charge €35.00 (thirty-five euros) per hour plus expenses. So if you have a proposal, get in touch. It’s as simple as that and no obligation. |
