Patchings

This 4 day event marked the start of one of the U.K.’s hottest summers. I was among some of the countries leading artists, in a fantastic setting, but also in a marquee… Hence the ‘ hot’ look and the fact that I finally had to abandon the ridiculous summer hat. ( No. It ain’t because I’ve got a big head…… but the shop only catered for little heads!)

The crowds were enormous. I never imagined there were so many people wanted to talk about art, painting,.. the weather and the heat!…

This chap talked and talked about pastels… and the weather until his wife appeared and told him that their coach, and she, were about to leave.

The hat just had to go… but for 4 glorious days the customers just wouldn't…. despite the weather. The fireworks and sing along with flags and boaters al la ‘ The last night of the Proms’on the last night of the Festival was worth the trip from Ireland as well!
