CommissionsAt present approximately 40% of my output is to commission, but I am always ready to consider more. If you would like to commission an ‘Alanart’ original, simply e-mail a request, write, or telephone and I’ll get back to you. It could be a painting from a favourite photograph, a view of your house or garden, or both. These are very popular, and I’ve put up an example here of my own little home in the West! Well, at least the way it looked, and my painting of it before I built on my studio/gallery. I will consider any subject and will execute the commission in acrylics or pastels, as you choose. How much does it cost ?Prices for commissioned work are affected by the amount of work involved in actually painting the piece, the degree of preparatory consultation involved, size of the piece, medium used, framing, packaging and postage. However, prices quoted for pieces in the galleries can be taken as a rough guide as to the final price of a similar commissioned work, less additional expenses. Terms are usually 50% of the agreed total price on commission, the remaining 50% payable on completion, but before delivery. Until paid for in full, all commissioned work remains the property of the artist. I will not accept a commission until I have given you a firm price quotation in writing which you have accepted, and the deposit has been paid, so contacting me about a possible commission in no way commits you to anything. I’m sorry if that all sounds very legalistic and complicated. Trust me. In reality it’s all very simple and straightforward, and anyone less like a solicitor than me you’d be hard put to finding!! So if you want a painting that will add something to your life, beautify your home, and make relatives and neighbours think you’ve come into money… just contact me. |
